One of Anthony Joshua’s former opponents suffered a terrible ear injury in a fistfight.
On Saturday evening, Dorian Darch competed against Ukrainian Volodymyr Skurtu in the main BYB 30 tournament, which took place at the Vale Sports Arena in Cardiff, Wales.
Joshua fought Darch in 2014 and the Watford man won by knockout in the second round.
Against Skurtu on Saturday night, Darch got off to a good start in the fight and knocked the Ukrainian to the ground within 30 seconds.
However, Skurtu managed to get back on his feet and landed a powerful blow that caused Darch’s left ear to split in half.
Referee Wayne Spinola stopped the fight after noticing the extent of Darch’s injury.
After the doctors examined the injury, the fight was stopped and Skurtu emerged victorious.

During his boxing career, Darch also fought Daniel Dubois, who will face Joshua in September.
When asked about the fight, Darch told Pro Boxing Fans: “To be fair to Dubois, he’s gotten a lot tougher since the Joyce fight. I think he more or less gave up in that fight, but Hrgovic caught him with a lot of right hooks and he kept fighting. But against Joshua, you can’t take that many right hooks, he wears you down.”
“AJ has the power to knock you out with one punch and when Dubois hit me I saw him knocking out other guys. He knocked me down but they weren’t stun punches, they just knocked me over. AJ, on the other hand, hit me in the temple, I lost consciousness, my legs were gone.”
Before the fight, which is scheduled for September 20, Dubois said: “I want to win by any means possible, but I definitely want a stoppage, a good stoppage and a clear victory, that’s what I’m after.”
“Very confident, very secure and happy and ready to do the business. I can’t wait to get started.”
He added: “I work towards this every day and leave no stone unturned. Just work, work, work and victory is assured.”
